Jeff and Todd have been playing together since the early / mid 90's when they were both members of The Right Connection (aka Mr. D's Toy Shop). In late 1999, Todd, Jeff and Tim Nagle (former bass player) broke away to form the present band, albeit with a different name. The band's first gig was New Year's Eve 1999-2000. Todd, Jeff, Gloria and Tim were joined by Bill Hartman (who now runs sound for many of our outdoor gigs) to bring in the year 2000 at the Quality Inn in Lebanon.
"The name Not Quite Einstein came as a result of a brainstorming session where we had over a hundred possible names. The band members voted and whittled the list down to a few then with just a few tweaks, we decided that Not Quite Einstein was the best. I guess that gives an indication of just how BAD the other choices were." - Todd Grundon
